  • CareNet Walk for Life

On May 10, 2008, The New Hampshire CareNet Pregnancy Center will be hosting a “Love in Action” walk for life. The walk will be 2 miles long in the cities of Manchester and Nashua, NH - starting in Veterans’ Memorial Park and Greeley Park respectively.

This walk will be used to raise money for the CareNet Pregnancy Center ministry which helps to support women by sharing information on abortion, adoption, and parenting. Their goal is to inform new mothers of all the options available so that they can make an informed decision. This ministry relies solely on donations to continue working - they do not charge anything for their services which includes personal consultations, pregnancy tests, and ultrasound tests among other things. If you would like to sponsor John and I for our 2-mile walk please send an e-mail to carenetwalk@gmail.com with the following information:

    First and Last name
    Mailing address
    Donation amount - example $10, 20, 30, 50, 100, other ________

All donations will be accepted, there is no amount too little!

Once we walk on May 10 - we will turn in our sponsors sign-up form and CareNet will contact you for your donation.

*Note: you will not be asked to pay until after the walk on May 10. If you would like to pre-pay, please mention this in your e-mail to carenetwalk@gmail.com and I will give you further instructions.

On another note, if you live in the area and would like to walk with our “team” you are more than welcome to come out.

  • Oh deer!

John and I were eating our Sunday lunch, gazing out the window at our new apartment view... and saw a herd of deer! They came out very timidly from the woods, but in all we counted 11 that we could see! I don't think I've ever seen that many at once... neat-o

These were all taken from out bedroom window with my super 300mm zoom lens. They are a bit hazy because of the window screen.

  • the search is over.. already!

We found another apartment - much sooner than I expected. It's not far from where we are now and, best of all, we know the people who own the place. So right now our move out/in date is March 1, but we're hoping we can start moving some things over sooner as there is a garage/storage space in the new apartment. They'll be doing some renovations to the space as the last guy who just moved out had been there for 13 years. We'll still only have 1 bedroom, but we'll have added garage space, a washer/dryer (yay!), dishwasher, and an actual tub shower - not a 2x2 hole in the wall!

I'm so excited I could start packing today!

  • the search is on...

In February, John will have been at this apartment for a year - and we're ready to move on. We've decided to start looking for a new place to call home - and can hopefully find something soon! Our current resident is a cute place, but uncomfortable as the landlord doesn't seem to care much about his only tenant and how happy they are. Oh well. A'hunting we will go...

  • I suppose it's about time to update the ol' blog, eh? Truth be told, I haven't much to say.

John and I had a good "first" holiday season together... A nice Christmas, and relatively uneventful new year's. John has been pursuing a manager/affiliate position with an online fitness company, which was a month long interview/internship process. We were supposed to hear back before January 1 as the head of the company wanted to start a new promotion the first of the new year, but we just heard back from him last week, with a rather frustrating answer - He just signed a book deal, which has taken up his time since before the holidays and he won't have time to train John for the job until the rough draft is done. It's scheduled to be "done" April 1. SO... that's not very much encouragement to us - as John has been seeking this for the past month as a full-time position with the promises that it would be an excellent opportunity, not to mention he assured us he was looking for someone to start full-time in January.

However, we know that God is in control - He has provided all our needs and our trust is in Him.

Other than that, things have been well... we just got another snow storm, which dumped quite a bit of snow on us. After several weeks with rain showers, not snow, and warmer weather starting melting off accumulations from the last few December storms, we seem to be back to our white landscapes again. Global warming - ha.
